First some housekeeping:
Maggie and I spoke this morning - the 20th anniversary of Brittany’s murder is here. Our conversations can stretch long, hours sometimes - brainstorming, ranting, raving, Lather, rinse, repeat.
Maggie has talked about paying me before and I’ve always hated that idea. I love Maggie and Britty - how could I take her money? This morning money came up in a different context but it led to the money talk. Again.
Again, we’ve got plans. In order for me to focus in on the planning and rollout of new news, events, etc. that means I need to be dedicate time to this space. To do that? I need to pay myself.
This website will never be paywalled.
With Maggie’s permission I am posting two links one to my PayPal and the other to my Venmo account. This wee substack that has been growing - THANK YOU! - is going to expand.
Now, about the anniversary and the ongoing nonsense from Tulsa Police Department. From Maggie’s FB page:
So to reiterate: TPD didn’t bother to contact Maggie to collaborate on this. TPD continues to fall short - they do not grasp trauma informed conversations. Which of course is stunning given the countless victims the are supposed to serve.
I’m going to be traveling in October but Maggie and I are working behind the scenes and will have more for you soon. In the interim I am going to cross post some of Maggie’s posts, livestreams, etc. here.
Please take a minute to revisit the facts of the case page, the timeline and please, subscribe and share!
I could not do this without Andy she has been there for so many years and I keep trying to pay her and I told her in the long when I'm going to but she wants to try it this way first. Watch for a lot of announcements a lot is going to be happening. I'm also talking behind the scenes on how we might set up a reward fund with or without Tulsa police's help. I know the detective is dedicated but when his higher-ups restrict him from talking with me the family of the case that he's investigating it's hard for me to even know what's going on. Why would a police department not, within reason yes understanding the need for confidential information on the case, not involved with family but be told you can't talk to the detectives they need to focus on the case so we as Administration will talk to the families? Is that best practices .we know it's not trauma informed care
